International Flashmob (Rally)
Y‘know..where people just pretend they’re milling around and shopping and suddenly everyone starts doing the same thing (like dancing) and all the passersby pull out their cell phones to record something that “you just had to see!”?
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!
The global West Coast Swing community holds an annual “international flashmob” that all the cool Westies take part in! As of 2018, it is now called the International Rally West Coast Swing, since it’s not really a secret anymore.
London, Ontario has taken part for 5 years and is going to be a part of it again this year; and you’re invited!
Learning the Steps:
We will hold a 6 week course to learn the flash mob choreography. If it looks like fun to you and you have not danced before, don’t worry, we will break down the steps into a very easy to learn sequence. This is not about being a great dancer, it’s about having a great time and meeting new people and doing something totally cool while representing London, ON!
Note: we will be teaching the 2021 Rally, not the 2022 Rally, since we feel that the patterns are more transferable to the social dance floor.
Do You Need a Partner?
Yes, you must sign up with a partner. One partner will be the leader and the other partner will be the follower. Followers and leaders can be any gender.
Class Series Details:
When: 6 Monday evenings: July 18, 25, Aug 8, 15, 22, 29; no class on the August long weekend)
Where: Polish Hall, 554 Hill St.
